Build-a-scene cards

I've been having fun recently with different projects that involve building up a scene. It's a very versatile way of making cards for different occasions and easy to change the colours to make a project for a man, woman, baby, celebration, sympathy...you get the idea!

The Craft Barn this week is showcasing projects using Card-io products, who have a great range of stamps specifically for building into frames and scenes.

If you'd like to see the full details of how I did this pop over to The Craft Barn blog and do check out the other projects the design team have put together for inspiration.

Bokeh

Bokeh is the word of the day! If you're none the wiser Wikipedia describes it as:

In photography, bokeh (originally /ˈboʊkɛ/, /ˈboʊkeɪ/ BOH-kay — also sometimes pronounced as /ˈboʊkə/ BOH-kə, Japanese: [boke]) is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light

You can see how to imitate this effect in mixed media at The Craft Barn this week starting with my project today.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all!
I've started my year with a day dedicated to crafting, fingers crossed I can continue to carve out time for it as the months go on.

The new twelve month challenge has been announced at The Craft Barn and I am delighted to reveal that I will be creating the examples for the poem challenge.  Each month the challenge will focus on a verse from Sara Coleridge's poem, The Months.

January brings the snow,
Makes our feet and fingers glow.

For full details of how to enter the challenge and how to recreate this canvas pop over to The Craft Barn blog. You have until midnight on the 22nd January.  Happy crafting! xxx
