Florally different

Hello

Today I'm sharing something a bit different for me. I don't really do a lot of die cutting or use embossing folders often, but I liked the look of the latest Chloe's Creatives box kit.

I cut out and layered the daisies from the embossing folder and found a pretty garland die in my stash for the background. I coloured them with liquid watercolour for a delicate look.

What do you think? I think I need to look through my embossing folders now for more ideas!

Thank you for stopping by. Have a lovely day xx

Make art and you will have wings to fly

Hello

A quick one today sharing the tag made with the left over card from the previous post.

The tag is for the #tagalongwith Isa challenge on FB. This month it had to include the mood board ideas and arrows.

Dare I say it but I'm not a big fan of these warm colour palettes...looking forward to something bluer and cooler!

Thank you for stopping by. Your comments are always appreciated and I will endeavour to visit your blogs as well. xx

Hanging on in there

Hello

A bit of a catch up post as I haven't had internet for a while and blogging on the phone is far too fiddly!

First of all the last of the cards using the technique I shared here. I've left space for a sentiment later on. My sister is just about to get some black and white kittens so this might be one for her.

Next up I thought I would do the card challenge with Isa using the mood board ideas and the theme of flip cards. It took a long time. While I was struggling to photograph it I suddenly realised that it isn't even a flip card but an accordion card! D'oh!

First I die cut four panels and stencilled them in the mood board colours.

I joined them together and linked the centres.I think that's where my confusion came from as the centres do twist as you open and close them.

I stamped images based on the mood board onto circles.

Then added them onto the card.

Fun to do even if it doesn't quite fit the brief.

Thank you for stopping by. Your comments are always appreciated. xx

O Christmas tree

Hello

Another quick share of two cards made earlier in the year. You can see the original post here with the how-to.

Autumn seemed to come to an abrupt end here and now it feels very wintry indeed. Planning is underway for a family meal over Christmas. A lot of tidying to go and not much time for crafting...but then all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!

Hope you have a lovely week xx

March tagalong

Hello

This year I'm joining in with challenges set by Isa.

If you are interested you need to ask to join the private tagalong group. This month the tutorial and challenge uses geometric shapes.

Before this challenge I had never really used tags but the format is slowly beginning to grow on me.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a lovely day xx

Card in a tin

Hello

Friday saw me back at Chertsey Museum for a card making workshop. The curator challenged me to come up with a project to use up some tins they had been given. This was a re-run of a workshop from 2020 just before activities across the world were paused for COVID.

The first time round my samples looked like this...

This time I was a bit more flamboyant...

It's a lovely idea for a special celebration card. The cardboard sleeve keeps the lid on, looks great and means you don't need to wrap it up.

The museum has a group of regular attendees, some are seasoned crafters, some newbies to the hobby and some started off with no experience and are now pretty amazing. I always try to think of ideas that can be as simple or as difficult as they want and always...ALWAYS...allow for people to do their own thing. Nothing worse than a workshop where the tutor gets in a strop if you deviate from their design...done a few of those.

The ladies said I could share their creations.

I think they did brilliantly and a lot of fun was had.

Thank you popping by. Have a great week with lots of crafty fun xx
