Enjoy the Day

More cards using one of my current favourite techniques, not least because once you get started you can make quite a few cards fairly quickly. The wording is cut on a digital die cutting machine and coloured with alcohol pens. The backgrounds are stencilled using Distress Ink and stamping or ink splatters added. Gel pens add a little more interest and depth and a few sequins finish it all off.

Materials used:
GiogioCraft stencils: floral circle, vortex spiral
Distress Ink pads and reinkers
ProMarkers
sequins
gel pens

V is for Voyage

Getting ahead of myself I thought I'd tackle the newest letter for The Craft Barn dictionary challenge...V. I was thinking along the lines of Jules Verne's Voyages Extraordinaire.

Having finished the page I then went to put the definition on, and too late, decided I'm not sure it goes! What do you think?

Materials used:
IndigoBlu: grand tour III
Kaisercraft: chevron
Brusho: gamboge, orange, dark brown
Distress Ink: fired brick, walnut stain
Fresco Finish paint: snowflake, old gold, blood orange, china
DecoArt dazzling metallics: glorious gold
Archival Ink: jet black
white paint pen

E is for Eclectic

The current letter for The Craft Barn dictionary challenge is E. I toyed for a long time with elephant but in the end went with eclectic as I love the PaperArtsy Eclectica range of stamps and am always looking for an opportunity to use them.

The background was created by sponging and stamping in paint. The foreground elements were stamped on tissue paper, painted on the reverse and glued in place. The hanging leaves, birds and flowers were stamped directly onto the background and coloured with paint pen and ProMarkers.

 Materials used:
PaperArtsy Eclectica stamps: EDY 05, 09, 10, 11
 PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paint
Archival Ink
tissue paper
Matte Medium
ProMarkers
Sharpie paint pen

Winter Wreath Scenes

Getting ready for the Chertsey Museum craft and wine evening in November. We'll be making winter scene cards with a mixture of Card-io, Hobby Art and Clarity stamps. If you're in the area it should be a fun night. The museum provides the crisps and you can bring the wine! Follow the link for more details.

Exciting news...

I am delighted to be able to announce that I have been asked to join the fabulous Craft Barn design team. My first project is on the theme of 'dimensional'. Do have a look at The Craft Barn blog for the full project details, but here's a little peek...
