Gelli Cats

Hello
It's rather a warm day here for crafting so I thought it was time to post a few projects. This is the first of the posts using the gel prints I made last week following a method in Giovanna Zara's new ebook.

The script was added by lifting paint from the Gelli plate using the raised side of an embossing folder.  I finished the print off with the stamped cat and coloured it with paint pen, gel pen and ProMarkers.

This one I kept a little cleaner. Maybe I'll add a sentiment later.

Time now to cool off with an ice-cream I think! Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Materials used:
GiogioCraft foam stamp: Taormina
Creative dies: cat and flower
Archival ink: jet black
Distress Oxide ink
ProMarkers
Gel pen
Paint pen

Home Sweet Home

Hello
Friends moving house is always a great opportunity for me to use one of my favourite stencils. The background is made using a technique adapted from the 2017 Clarity calendar where good quality watercolour paper is sprinkled with Brusho and made wet. The stencil is placed on top and then more watercolour paper and a few sheets of copy paper placed over it. The sandwich is embossed through a die cutting machine to give a positive and negative image.

I've added additional detail with watercolour pencils to make it a bit more lively.

I hope it will be part of years of happy times in the new home.

Wishing you a lovely day wherever you are xxx

Glorious Gelli

Hi there
I always seem to be in a rush writing posts! Holiday in a few weeks so maybe I can take my time then. It's a busy day today but I was up early to try out some of Giovanna Zara’s gel printing ideas using her stamps and stencils. She's part of the GelliArts design team and has just published her own  ebook.

I've tried in the past with paint and pulled some uninspiring prints so I thought I'd have a go with Distress Oxide ink. (Reading her book I think I was using too much paint so will have to have another go.)

It didn't take long to get a little pile of very pretty prints.

I'll make these up into cards later on.

Hope you all have a lovely fun and relaxing day wherever you are.
Thank you for stopping by xxx
