Hummingbird

Hello
Sometimes I get together with other crafty friends and we admire each other's new purchases and have a play. This usually results in a collection of die cuts and stamped images that get stashed away for future use. I've been trying to stick to my resolve to finish half completed projects and use up bits and pieces, or clear them out. Some of these have been waiting many years to be finished!

First up is a hummingbird card.

Thank you for taking a look. Wishing you a day full of sunshine and flowers xx

Materials used:
Sizzix Thinlits die: free bird
Marianne stamp and die set: two flowers
Faber-Castell Gelatos
Distress Oxide ink
Archival Ink: jet black

Goodies from Italy

Hello there
Back to work today after the Easter break and delighted to find my goody bag from GiogioCraft had arrived. So much for not buying anything new for a while!

This is my second package from Giovanna's Etsy shop in recent weeks, but I gave away some of the first stencils as presents, and it was a good opportunity to get some more for myself...and I might have added the foam mandala stamps for good measure! The die cuts are almost too lovely to use, especially the feather.

The sharp eyed will have noticed a little bit of wrapping paper at the top which contains one of her amazing faux midoris, sadly it won't be staying with me as it is destined to be a present so I can't reveal it.

I now have some of the designs in stamps and stencils A4, A5 and mini...so what will it be first, cards or a canvas? Fortunately there's plenty of inspiration on her blog.

Happy crafting xx

Hare and the Owl

Hi
A friend and I went to the crafting show at Ally Pally where I succumbed to the lure of the Clarity Three-Way Overlay stamps. Not cheap, but beautifully designed and unrivalled quality....which is my way of explaining how two different sets ended up in my carrier bag!

I started with the hare and the owl as they seem more spring-like. Although I've already made quite a few cards I still have ideas for different combinations of colours. Here are three of my favourites so far...

Hope today is finding you full of the joys of spring. Thank you for taking the time to pop by xxx

Simple Stencilled Cards

Hello there
A few weeks ago I was tasked with coming up with craft activities for a work away day. We had one group activity but I was also keen that everyone went away with something they had made. Not an easy task for nearly 40 people, some of whom have never crafted and some of whom undoubtedly didn't want to!

I went with some easy stencilling and stamping. One or two opted for a spectating role but most people went home with at least one card, and some people made several.

What I hadn't anticipated was how people were worried about getting the ink off their fingers. If you're a crafter it's a sign of time well spent!

Have a lovely day xx
