Mehndi elephant

Hello

I have recently had a birthday and have been exceptionally lucky to have lots of crafty presents which will be experimented with and making an appearance here in due course. My lovely husband gave me some Blackwing coloured pencils (which smell so good!) and a voucher for an experience photographing street art. My parents gave me vouchers for a fused glass workshop and my sister gave me a ring light with a remote control to help with taking better photos. I still need a bit of practice with that one.

I've had money, vouchers and gift cards already spent on crafty stash and lots of paint, papers, stencils, dies and lovely non crafting gifts. I am blessed to have friends and family who know me so well.

Creative Dies Die & Stamp Set Elephant Set of 5 | Mehndi Collection

I've finally managed to finish off a set of four cards I started at least a year ago, maybe longer, using the Creative Dies mehndi elephant. I had all the pieces cut but just hadn't had time to colour them.

A bit of a secret...it turns out you can do colouring in while doing a three hour webinar training! I've used inktense pencils, with some Distress Oxide spatter and a little ProMarker shadowing.

I've kept the decoupaging very low, with just a couple of pads between the layers and sealing the edges down with glue, to give a slightly domed effect which will still post easily without extra cost.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and thank you to those who leave comments, I really do appreciate them. Take care and have a lovely day xx

Gelli Cats

Hello
It's rather a warm day here for crafting so I thought it was time to post a few projects. This is the first of the posts using the gel prints I made last week following a method in Giovanna Zara's new ebook.

The script was added by lifting paint from the Gelli plate using the raised side of an embossing folder.  I finished the print off with the stamped cat and coloured it with paint pen, gel pen and ProMarkers.

This one I kept a little cleaner. Maybe I'll add a sentiment later.

Time now to cool off with an ice-cream I think! Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Materials used:
GiogioCraft foam stamp: Taormina
Creative dies: cat and flower
Archival ink: jet black
Distress Oxide ink
ProMarkers
Gel pen
Paint pen
